Precautions

The following conditions are contraindicated for massage:
• acute pain or inflammation
• fever
• circulatory problems
• heart conditions
• diabetes
• epilepsy
• cancer
• long-term pharmaceutical use
• dermatological conditions
• infectious or contagious diseases
• in season
• pregnancy
• post surgery

For some of these situations, massage may need to be
modified or delayed. For some dogs with the above conditions,
massage will not be a suitable treatment option.

Massage is not a replacement
for good veterinary care.
An ill or injured dog must be
examined by a veterinarian
prior to massage. We would
be pleased to work with your
vet to set up a rehabilitation
plan for your dog.
